I finally recovered from my week in San Diego and finally put the kids back in school, so I think it’s time to actually report on my first trip to the San Diego Comic Con International. Let me say, it was a lot. Let’s get the bad out of the way: If I got bumped into even one more time, I thought I was about to lose it. And it wasn’t even getting bumped, it’s just these rude eff’ers who know they bumped into me and couldn’t take the 1/2 a second to say “excuse me”, “I’m sorry,” or even “my bad.”
The good was just about everything else. From seeing new figures just about everywhere to seeing celebrities walk the floor to attending panels as well. I hope my pictures are okay…
Celebrities were a given when just walking around the floor or attending panels. Some celebrities included Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Rapper Murs, Jurassic 5 Rapper Chali 2na, “Orange is the New Black” actress Jessica Pimentel, “Luke Cage” himself Mike Colter, and actor Donald Faison.
Cosplaying is a set tradition at the comic con, and the people came out to play. I myself did not participate this year, but maybe next time… 😉
Action Figures and Statues:
Last but never the least, here is a sampling of the figures and statues coming out in the next few months. Seen here are some of the current and future figures and statues from companies like Hasbro, Mattel, Mezco, Diamond Select, Hot Toys, and more!
I hope this small representation of pictures helps in understanding just how big this thing is. I hope this is only the first of many years of attending this comic book convention.
